Your data is yours: backups and export

A Pro feature: export everything you've saved — as a simple file, a spreadsheet, or a full zip with your documents — and import it back. You can even lock a backup with a password. No lock-in, ever.

Your library is yours — truly yours. On Pro, you can take a full copy with you whenever you want, in a format you can actually open. No locked doors, no holding your stuff hostage. I think that's how it should be.

What it is

Backup and export is a Pro feature. With Pro you can export everything you've saved as a downloadable file, and import it back later or on another device. You choose the format, and you can even lock a backup with a password. (On Free, your library stays safely on your device, but backups and export aren't included — that's part of what Pro is for.)

Why you'll love it

  • Peace of mind: a copy of your whole library, in your hands.
  • No lock-in — leave anytime with all your data.
  • A password-locked backup keeps sensitive things extra safe.

How to use it

  1. Make sure you're on Pro (backup and export live there).
  2. Open Settings and find the Data section.
  3. Pick your export:
  4. JSON — a complete snapshot, perfect for importing back.
  5. CSV — a spreadsheet, great for opening in Excel or Sheets.
  6. ZIP — everything including your attached documents and photos.
  7. Encrypted — a .enc file locked with a password you choose.
  8. Download and keep it somewhere safe.
  9. To bring data in, use Import and pick your file.
A gentle habit: save a backup now and then, especially before big changes. It takes seconds and it's a lovely safety net.

Good to know

  • Export and import are part of the Pro plan. On Free, your bookmarks stay on your device; upgrade to Pro to back up, export, and import.
  • An encrypted backup is scrambled so only someone with your password can open it — don't lose that password, because I can't unlock it for you.
  • Importing merges sensibly; it won't clobber things at random.
