You can start using me without an account at all — your library just lives on your device. When you want it to follow you everywhere, you sign in. Here's how that works, and how I help keep you safe.

What it is

An account lets you turn on cloud sync, sharing, and channel bots. Signing in is straightforward, and there are a few sensible locks — email verification and optional two-step sign-in — to keep your library truly yours.

Why you'll love it

  • No account needed to begin — try everything locally, free.
  • When you're ready, sign in and your library follows you across devices.
  • Extra locks are available if you want belt-and-braces safety.

How to use it

  1. Use me freely with no account — everything stays on your device.
  2. When you want sync or sharing, sign in with Google or an email and password.
  3. Verify your email (we send a quick link). This proves the account is really yours before anything goes to the cloud.
  4. For extra safety, turn on two-step sign-in (MFA) in Settings, so a code from your phone is needed to log in.
Why verify email? It's a simple, kind guardrail: it stops someone from grabbing an account with your address, and it protects your cloud data. It takes about ten seconds.

Good to know

  • Local use is Free and needs no account.
  • Sign-up has friendly, invisible checks to keep out spam bots — you won't notice them.
  • Two-step sign-in needs a small bit of setup on your Bommel Bot project's side; if you don't see it, it may not be switched on for your setup yet.
  • Backups can be password-encrypted for another layer of privacy — see the guide below.
